Using the MCP extension for Claude Desktop NoCodeAPI

A remote MCP server can be accessed in Claude Desktop without requiring a local server setup or any Node.js installation, thanks to Claude extensions.

To use the Claude NocodeAPI extension, begin by downloading the Claude DXT extension for Claude.

Once downloaded, install it in developer mode, as it is not yet an officially registered Claude extension. This extension connects to a remote NocodeAPI MCP server, enabling access to various available tools.

 

Steps to install the extension

  1. Download the Claude desktop and log in using your email

     

  2. Click on the profile (username) and go to the settings page

3) On the settings page, click on Extension

4) Click on Advanced settings, and you will see install extension

5) Then select dxt file from your computer, you could see below screen

6) Click on the install button and you will see the following screen, add URL and MCP token on the screen

Server being used is http://137.184.27.22

For X-MCP-AUTH-TOKEN,  we need to get this from the nocodeapi site

Copy this MCP token and use it in the above screen


7) Then click on save and enable the extension

8) Then you can go to a new chat and see the nocodeAPI MCP server and tools

9) Now we can use the tools related, for eg. in this doc using airtable
